Debian Lenny released (JAWUG Mirror Updated)

At last – now maybe my bandwith usage will go down for at least a short while.

I have for a long time maintained the local mirrors (on the Jawug network for Ubuntu and Debian, lenny was chewing away at my cap over the last months… Now that Debian released version 5.0 (Lenny) I can chill for at least a short while before starting to mirror the next Debian version – squeeze.

Feature Highlights:

  • Kernel 2.6.26
  • GNOME 2.22
  • Emacs 22
  • X.Org 7.3
  • OpenOffice.org 2.4
  • Iceweasel/Firefox 3
  • MySQL 5.051a
  • GCC 4.3
  • PHP 5.2.6

While many of these are already present in newer Ubuntu releases it’s nice that the platform I consider “THE” server platform now has them standard.

Full feature list can be reviewed on the Debian Wiki
